As our lives have become increasingly intertwined with communication technology, and as we relate with each other in more casual and non-verbal ways, some questions naturally arise: What is to become of our language? How will it continue to evolve? How professional is receiving and sending emojis, really? As to the former two questions, only time will tell. For the latter, one can be certain that a multi-million dollar home probably won’t be sold by a carefully thought-out string of smiley faces, hearts, sparkles, and tiny people doing tiny leisurely things. At least, not yet.
Even now, our team deliberates as to whether the singular emoji can also be used as a plural term, or if it is compulsory to spell it with an “s”, as in emojis. Every day, new phrases and words are coined for new discoveries and new ideas. It’s not a joke to say that communicating online has accelerated the evolution of language, and staying on top of these trends is challenging for all of us. Attention to detail and nuance has always been the task of the writer. As writers we take this very seriously.
At Two Heads Media, our team came together because of a mutual and deeply rooted appreciation for the printed page. Precision and elegance in communication is what drives us to create content for clients across various industries, content that is at once readable and distinctive. This is what we do. This is our craft.
